Somatic & Integrative Therapy
Healing that reaches beyond words — into the body, the nervous system, and the deeper patterns that shape how we feel, connect, and move through the world.
When the Body Holds What Words Cannot Reach
Many of us have spent years trying to think our way through pain — analyzing, understanding, reframing. And yet something remains. Somatic and integrative therapy begins with the recognition that our experiences are not stored only in the mind. They live in the body, in the nervous system, in the ways we brace, withdraw, or reach for connection.
Andrea's integrative approach weaves together a range of evidence-informed modalities, selected and adapted for each individual client. Rather than following a single protocol, she listens carefully to what each person needs and draws from her training to meet them there.
Modalities & Approaches
Brainspotting
A powerful brain-body approach that locates where trauma and emotional pain are stored in the nervous system, using focused eye positions to access and process experiences that are held beneath conscious awareness. Particularly effective for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and performance blocks.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)
A structured, evidence-based therapy that uses eye movements and voluntary image replacement to rapidly reduce the distress associated with traumatic memories. ART can produce significant relief in fewer sessions than traditional approaches.
Clinical Hypnotherapy
A deeply relaxed, focused state that allows access to subconscious patterns, beliefs, and memories. Hypnotherapy can be a gentle and effective way to work with anxiety, phobias, habit patterns, and the roots of emotional responses that feel difficult to shift through conscious effort alone.
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT / Tapping)
A somatic and energy-based practice that combines gentle tapping on acupressure points with focused attention on distressing thoughts or feelings. EFT can help regulate the nervous system, reduce emotional intensity, and shift long-held patterns in a relatively brief time.
Ego State / Parts-Based Work
An approach that recognizes the inner world as made up of different parts — each with its own history, needs, and protective role. By developing a compassionate relationship with these parts, clients can move toward greater internal coherence, self-understanding, and healing.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
A skills-based approach that builds capacity for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. DBT skills are woven into Andrea's work as practical tools for navigating intense emotional experiences and building a life that feels worth living.
A Polyvagal Foundation
Every aspect of Andrea's work is informed by Polyvagal Theory — an understanding of how the autonomic nervous system shapes our felt sense of safety, our capacity for connection, and our ability to engage with life. Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, Andrea attends to the nervous system's underlying state, helping clients build greater flexibility, resilience, and access to the ventral vagal states where healing and connection become possible.
Mind, Body & Spirit
For clients who wish to explore it, Andrea's work can extend into the spiritual dimensions of healing — questions of meaning, purpose, energy, and our deeper connection to ourselves and the world. This is never imposed, always optional, and always led by the client's own curiosity and readiness.
