A New Frontier in Therapeutic Healing

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) combines the carefully supervised use of ketamine — a legal, FDA-approved medication — with dedicated psychotherapy to support healing at a depth that traditional talk therapy alone may not reach. Ketamine can temporarily soften the mind's habitual defenses, creating a window of expanded awareness in which long-held pain, patterns, and beliefs become more accessible and workable.

This is not a passive treatment. The therapeutic relationship, the preparation you bring, and the integration work that follows are what give the experience its lasting meaning. Andrea's role is to hold that process with skill, attentiveness, and deep respect for your inner world.

Andrea's Role in This Work

Andrea provides the psychotherapy component of ketamine-assisted care — the preparation, presence, and integration that surround the medicine experience. The prescribing and medical oversight of ketamine is provided by a licensed medical provider. Andrea works in close collaboration with that provider to ensure your care is coordinated, safe, and therapeutically coherent. She does not prescribe medication.

The Three Phases of KAP

Phase 1

Preparation

Before any medicine session, Andrea works with you to establish a strong therapeutic foundation. This includes exploring your intentions, history, and what you hope to access or release. Preparation sessions build the trust, safety, and inner orientation that allow the medicine experience to be as meaningful as possible.

Phase 2

The Medicine Session

During the ketamine session, Andrea is present with you throughout — attuned, grounded, and available. Her role is not to direct your experience but to hold a safe, steady container so you can move through whatever arises with support. Sessions are conducted in a calm, carefully prepared environment designed to support inner exploration.

Phase 3

Integration

What happens after the medicine session is often where the deepest work occurs. Integration sessions help you make meaning of the experience, weave insights into daily life, and continue the healing that the medicine opened. Andrea draws on her full range of integrative approaches — somatic work, parts-based therapy, and more — to support this process.

Who This May Be For

KAP may be worth exploring if you are living with treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, or deep-seated patterns that have not shifted with other approaches. It is not appropriate for everyone, and a thorough consultation — including medical screening by the prescribing provider — is always the first step. Andrea does not guarantee outcomes and does not make promises about what the experience will produce.

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy requires medical supervision and is not appropriate for everyone. Andrea does not prescribe ketamine or provide medical oversight. All medical decisions are made by a licensed medical provider. No outcomes are guaranteed.

Frequently Asked Questions About KAP

Is KAP currently available at Source & Soma?

KAP is coming soon. Andrea is preparing to offer this service and is not yet accepting KAP clients. Please reach out via the consultation form to be notified when availability opens.

Who prescribes the ketamine?

Andrea does not prescribe medication. The prescribing and medical oversight of ketamine is provided by a licensed medical provider who works in collaboration with Andrea. You will be screened medically before any medicine session takes place.

Is ketamine legal for this use?

Yes. Ketamine is a legal, FDA-approved medication that has been used in medical settings for decades. Its use in psychotherapy-assisted contexts is legal and conducted under medical supervision.

How is KAP different from recreational ketamine use?

KAP is a structured therapeutic process conducted under medical supervision, with careful preparation and integration support. It is fundamentally different from recreational use in its setting, intention, dosing, and the therapeutic relationship that surrounds it.

Can I combine KAP with other therapies Andrea offers?

Yes. Andrea's integrative approach means KAP can be woven together with somatic therapy, brainspotting, ART, and other modalities — particularly in the preparation and integration phases. The medicine session itself is a distinct experience, but the therapeutic work around it draws on her full range of training.
